Undercover Data Science

Empowering the next generation of data agents

Undercover Data Science is our research programme for statistics and data science education in secondary schools. We work with teachers and students to investigate how young people can learn to explore and investigate with data creatively, critically and responsibly, bringing together statistical and computational thinking and considering the people, communities and decisions connected to data. Our next phase will work with secondary teachers and Year 13 students as Aotearoa prepares for the new Statistics and Data Science subject in 2030, building on more than 20 years of work in statistics education research, curriculum, assessment, teaching and collaboration with teachers across Aotearoa.
